IT Support Specialist

Job Summary:

Support the organization with internal technical needs; break fix of end user computer equipment, desk phones, cell phones, and accessories.  Salvaging returned equipment for parts or redeployment.  Assist as needed with network initiatives.  Utilizing system for ticketing / tracking of IT Requests to resolution.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide staff and users with assistance in solving computer or other hardware related problems, such as malfunctions with laptops, desktops and phones
  2. Assess as directed, equipment returned from employees
  3. Perform repairs to equipment as needed
  4. Destruct as directed, equipment not in use
  5. Troubleshoot end user PC issues such as printing and connectivity
  6. Assist with the set up of new employee hardware; computer, phone etc.
  7. Monitor UPS {battery backups} for all locations
  8. Administer the showrooms as needed for technology needs
  9. Administer company print drivers for staff
  10. Other IT support as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.  Advise of any non-compliant usage of company equipment/software
  2. Resolve issues pertaining to office equipment configuration

Required Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  1. Knowledge of computer hardware and software including applications and programming
  2. Operating Systems:  Windows, Apple Ios, Droid and Virtualization
  3. Networking:  Protocols (TCP/IP), Services, Security, Tools, Devices, Cabling, Routers & Switches
  4. Computer Applications:  Microsoft Office, Adobe Application Suite
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills
  6. Customer and interpersonal service skills
  7. Ability to teach and instruct technical concepts to users
  8. Ability to analyze and problem solve technical issues
  9. Professional and courteous demeanor

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Education in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  2. Related work experience in the Information Technology field
  3. Service oriented work experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:

  1. A+ Certification
  2. Net+ Certification
  3. Security+ Certification not required and preferred
